Train, Spotting

Making good birding use of the journey to London I managed to add Wigeon, Lapwing, Cormorant, Common Buzzard, Jay and best of all three Red Kite to the self found year list today. Not bad considering half the journey was in darkness and a quarter in blizzard. I also had Fox and Roe Deer as well as two goose (sp)

I used to do a lot of birding from the train... the Leicester to Norwich lines passes some great habitats. I've even twitched a good few birds by train too - Serin and Arctic Redpoll, Slender-billed Gull...
